We are excited to welcome Mrs. Lesinski to the Chapman staff as our Building Substitute Teacher! 💙⚡

Mrs. Lesinski is already a familiar face around Chapman. She has been substitute teaching in our building for the past two years, has been involved with our PTO since spring 2024, and is also a Chapman parent to Gunnar and Alaina! This year, we are especially excited to have her here with us in a more permanent role, supporting students and staff throughout the building wherever she is needed.

You may have seen Mrs. Meeks last school year as our building sub! Mrs. Meeks is beginning her first year in first grade and is excited to create a space where students can be themselves, build confidence, and discover just how much they are capable of.

We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Thomson to the Chapman family as our new upper elementary CI Teacher!

Mrs. Thomson brings 15 years of experience in education and a passion for creating a calm, positive classroom where students feel confident, supported, and encouraged to do their very best. She also loves hands-on learning, which makes her a wonderful addition to our Chapman team!

Looking for a fun, free way to keep your child learning this summer? We encourage all Chapman Chargers and their families to participate in their local library's Summer Reading Program! 📖 Reading over the summer helps students maintain the skills they've worked so hard to build during the school year while fostering a lifelong love of learning. A special thank you to Ms. Kayla for sharing this wonderful opportunity with our Chapman families!

Families across the Downriver area can take advantage of free summer meal programs available for all children and teens ages 18 and under. Participating locations offer healthy meals throughout the summer at no cost, helping keep students fueled and ready for summer activities. Check the Summer Meals Information sheet for local meal sites and service schedules.

🛼🎉 Fourth Grade End-of-Year Celebration! 🎉🛼 Our Chapman Elementary fourth graders had an amazing time celebrating the end of a fantastic school year at United Skates in Lincoln Park! Students enjoyed skating, music, games, laughter, and making special memories with their classmates and teachers. It was a wonderful way to recognize all of their hard work, growth, and accomplishments throughout the year. We are so proud of our fourth graders and all they have achieved! A big thank you to our staff, families, and United Skates for helping make this celebration a success. We hope everyone had a rolling good time! 😊

🎉☀️ Field Day Fun at Chapman Elementary! ☀️🎉 What an amazing day of fun, teamwork, and memories at our Chapman Elementary Field Day! A huge thank you to Mrs. Kozicki for once again organizing an unforgettable day for our students. Your hard work, planning, and dedication made this special event a tremendous success. We would also like to thank our incredible staff and parent volunteers for their time, energy, and support. Your help kept everything running smoothly and ensured our students had a safe and enjoyable experience. One of the biggest highlights—and definitely a student favorite—was when the fire truck arrived and sprayed everyone with water! 🚒💦 The smiles, laughter, and excitement made for a perfect way to cool off and celebrate the day. Thank you to everyone who helped make Field Day such a wonderful experience for our Chapman Chargers. We are grateful for our amazing school community! ❤️⚡️

💙🎓 Today our fourth graders met with our third graders to share what it’s like to be a fourth grader at Chapman Elementary! They answered questions, shared their favorite memories, and offered advice to help our future fourth graders feel excited and prepared for next year. It was wonderful to see our students encouraging and supporting one another. Today our 4th grade students brought history to life with an amazing Wax Museum experience! 🇺🇸✨ Each student selected a prominent figure from American history, researched their life and accomplishments, created an informational poster, and transformed into their chosen historical figure. Visitors were treated to short speeches as students shared fascinating facts and stories about the people they portrayed. We were excited to welcome students from throughout the school, as well as parents and families, to visit our Wax Museum in the bus loop. It was wonderful to see our young historians proudly showcase their hard work, creativity, and presentation skills. Thank you to all of our families and visitors who came out to support our students. Chapman Elementary has been taken over by pirates today! ☠️⚓ Our 4th graders have successfully completed their Treasure Island reading unit and are celebrating with a swashbuckling Pirate Day filled with adventure, fun, and plenty of pirate spirit! These young buccaneers are having a whale of a time as they sail through the day. Yo ho ho! We’re proud of all the hard work our crew put into reading and exploring this classic tale. Today, they’re reaping the rewards of their literary voyage and proving they’re worthy members of the Chapman pirate crew! FULL CIRCLE MOMENT!! Today our Kindergarteners attended CHS graduation rehearsal. The graduating class of 2026 shared their wisdom with Chapman Kindergarteners, exchanging cards filled with advice for the future. In return, the Kindergarteners gifted the Seniors with adorable hand drawn pictures. Both groups also exchanged bears, each proudly displaying their graduation year. It was a surprise for the seniors during their graduation practice, making the moment even more special! WE ARE PROUD TO BE GSD!! #MarauderPride
