This March, our school brought reading to life with a special experience for every grade level-Camp Wanna Read! Our media center was transformed into a cozy campsite filled with tents, trees, and all the fun touches of the great outdoors. Each grade had their own day at camp, where students enjoyed camp activities, stories, and a little extra magic that made this month truly unforgettable. It was wonderful to see our students excited, inspired, and immersed in the joy of reading! Take a look at some highlights from each grade level's special day at camp—we hope you enjoy these moments as much as we dia!

As February comes to a close, we’re proud to showcase just a few more of the many meaningful ways our school celebrated Black History Month! Our Young Fives students learned about Rosa Parks, discovering how brave, determined, and smart she was, and why her actions made such an important impact in history. In Mrs. Tessier’s fifth grade class, students researched and created posters highlighting influential African American leaders from both the past and present. Each student chose one person they were already interested in and one they had not yet learned about, expanding their knowledge and appreciation while celebrating Black History Month. We are proud of our students for their thoughtful learning, creativity, and engagement throughout the month!

Our fourth grade students created thoughtful Black History Month biography projects to honor influential African American leaders. Through researching key facts, meaningful quotes, and major contributions, students showed pride in their learning and a growing understanding of how these individuals helped shape history. This project highlighted strong research skills, creativity, and respect for the impact of Black leaders past and present.

Today, the 5th graders in Mrs. Zavalney’s class transformed their classroom into a Living Mobile Museum to celebrate Black History Month. Each student researched a historical and influential Black figure and became the expert on their person. Students presented important accomplishments, challenges their figure faced, and the lasting impact they made on history. Visitors rotated through exhibits, and learned from our student historians. The goal was not only to learn facts, but to understand courage, resilience, leadership, and how individuals can change the world. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, confidence, and growth as researchers and presenters. 💛
