Meet the Principal
Dear Weiss Parents, Students, Staff, and Community,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Weiss Elementary School. I possess over fifteen years of educational experience spanning grades 3-5 with a specific concentration in inquiry based science instruction. I taught in Gibraltar for the past twelve years and taught two years in Trenton beforehand. My M.S. degree in Elementary Science, as well as my leadership roles within the Gibraltar School District have prepared me for this role and have shaped my beliefs about the importance of STEM education. I am excited to use my skills as an educational leader to your child’s school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
Along with the dedicated staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Weiss by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. We will focus on 21st century skills through STEM and Project Based Learning, character education initiatives, fostering a nurturing safe environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.
On a personal note, I am the father of two boys, ages 11 and 7 and haven been married to my wonderful wife, Liz, for 13 years. We live in the Gibraltar School District and take pride in the educational opportunities that our community provides our two boys.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Weiss with the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st century with a solid foundation created here at our school. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
