Information Update 2-26-2021
Dear Class of 2021 Families and Students,
Thank you for allowing us the time to learn and grow this year as we determine the impact of COVID-19 on our school day, style of instruction, athletics, and the traditional events that we hold each year. We have remained engaged in a discussion since the beginning of the year about the traditional end-of-year senior events and are now ready to share our plans. I know that there is always a desire from everyone (myself included) to have plans set in stone and a guarantee. Unfortunately, with the ever-changing nature of restrictions and requirements, it is difficult to provide this degree of certainty. Since we have waited a little longer for this announcement, we are able to make better plans that more closely resemble the desires of students and parents as we celebrate our seniors and recognize their accomplishments. It is important to note that we want our seniors to have all the recognition and events they deserve and that we will follow guidelines and restrictions recommended and mandated by the Governor’s office and the Wayne County Health Department, as keeping everyone safe and stopping the spread of COVID-19 remains a priority. With some of the options listed below, we will only use that option if it allows us to honor, recognize, or celebrate the entire group that we have traditionally and will make adjustments to spectators or additional participants if it allows us to keep a more traditional feel. I want to note that I’m extremely grateful to our senior class for their flexibility, creativity, and constant communication as we make these preparations.
