Summer baseball is a very important part of developing the Carlson Baseball Program. The summer team plays a four to five week schedule from the middle of June to the middle of July. We play 15 to 20 games with a few practices. This allows players to get more repetitions in developing their skill level and also gives the coaches a great opportunity to evaluate players that they have not seen play much. There is a small fee to play to cover the cost of umpires and we try to get a sponsor each summer for shirts. Our players need to be involved in the summer program in order to compete at a higher level when the spring season comes around. It also allows coaches to see where kids fit in or if they don’t. It builds team camaraderie for the next season and shows us who the TEAM players are.
Thank you to all of the past summer sponsors! We welcome anyone interested in sponsoring future teams.
In 2017, we started "skills day". Too many players were on other summer teams and that limited pitching too much. There are a few skills days for players to work on their game and show coaches their ability level.
