 Shumate MATHCounts Soar to New Heights!

 
Congratulations to Shumate Middle School’s MATHCounts Club and their success at Wednesday’s Regional Competition. Mr. Hoover and Mrs. Cislo accompanied twelve members of the MATHCounts team to represent Shumate and our Seahawks “soared” to new heights! Our team of four took second place and consisted of Neal Jayaraman (6th Grade), Arun Jayaraman (8th Grade), Andrew Panter (8th Grade), and Austin Mills (7th Grade). These four gentlemen will be attending the State Competition on Saturday, March 14th, 2015. Good luck, Seahawks!

Updated Vaccinations required for 7th Graders to Attend School in 2014-2015

Immunizations are an important part of your child’s health and Michigan law requires that children going to school be vaccinated to help prevent certain vaccine-preventable diseases. As the district school nurses, we are writing to inform you that the Michigan State Public Health Department requires vaccination updates at age 11 years.

Schools of Choice

The School of Choice Program allows the enrollment of non-resident students that reside in Wayne County.  Enrollments for second trimester will be taken November 4, 2014 through November 27, 2014.  Mandatory documentation needed at the time of enrollment; Original Birth Certificate, Immunization Record,  3 Forms of Wayne County Residency Proof (utility, cable or phone bill, tax bill, lease, mortgage statement, insurance bill)  Secondary level students will also need a copy of their transcripts or last report card.  Special Education students will need a copy of their last IEP.
