Shumate Middle School Staff honor Veterans in their annual “Jeans for Troops” red, white and blue day. The staff collected over $200 to donate to the amazing GIGo Campaign.

 Labels for Education

This year Shumate Middle School will be participating in the Labels for Education program. Through the program we can collect UPCs and beverage/sauce caps from participating products to earn points that can be redeemed for FREE educational merchandise!

Campbell’s, BIC, Pace, Pepperidge Farm, SpagettiOs, Swanson and V8 all are participating products. For a full list please

It’s easy to help! Simply save UPCs and beverage/sauce caps and have your student turn them in to their advisory teacher. You can also drop them off in the main office. All students who participate will be given positive action tickets to enter into our gift card drawings!

Updated Vaccinations required for 7th Graders to Attend School in 2015-2016

Immunizations are an important part of your child’s health and Michigan law requires that children going to school be vaccinated to help prevent certain vaccine-preventable diseases. As the district school nurses, we are writing to inform you that the Michigan State Public Health Department requires vaccination updates at age 11 years.
