Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration begins in each elementary building March 4, 2013. An appointment for kindergarten screening will be given when the child is registered.
Thursday, April 11, 2013, is Kindergarten Parent Night from 6:30-8:00p.m. at the Gibraltar School District Board Office, Vreeland and Allen Road Woodhaven.
Week of April 23 - 26, 2013, is Kindergarten Screening at the Gibraltar School District Board Office, Vreeland and Allen Road—by appointment only.

Kiwanis Essay Winner- Student earns $100 for her favorite charity

4th grade essay winner Julia Mills
The essay topic was what charity would I donate $100 to? Julia chose children with hair loss. Julia not only won the contest, but she honored by being able to present the $100 check to the charity in which she wrote about! Congrats Julia!

Hunter School turned in over 750 canned goods. Mrs. Ferguson challenged the school to fill her office with canned goods. She said she would wear U of M clothes if her office waws filled up. SHe had to AND her office was decorated in blue and gold. On October 25th, she had to endure some "pies" being thrown at her from the students who brought in the most canned goods.


Schools of Choice
The School of Choice Program allows the enrollment of non-resident students that reside in Wayne County. Enrollments will be taken March 5 through September 7, 2012 for the 2012/2013 school year. Mandatory documentation needed at the time of enrollment; Original Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, 3 Forms of Wayne County Residency Proof (utility, cable or phone bill, tax bill, lease, mortgage statement, insurance bill) Secondary level students will also need a copy of their transcripts or last report card. Special Education students will need a copy of their last IEP.

School breakfast provides 1/4 of your child’s daily nutrition needs and research shows breakfast provides fuel for school and boosts brain power. Breakfast at school is affordable, too. It’s available for all students and if you qualify for free or reduced price lunch, you also qualify for the free or reduced price breakfast.
