Goals

I.  All schools will raise student achievement in the Gibraltar School District by providing a guaranteed state standard-based curriculum and focusing on a continuous cycle of school improvement while offering a safe, secure and orderly learning environment

       A. Indicators of success:

             i. curriculum maps/pacing guides in grade levels/courses K-12

             ii. adopted curriculum (state standards, benchmarks and GLCEs) with best instructional

                 practice and material to maximize student achievement

             iii. fully implemented High School Reform

             iv. standardized scores above state or national average

             v. early intervention programs, strategies and initiatives

             vi. annual review of instructional materials

             vii. NCA accreditation

             viii. No Child Left Behind ( NCLB )standards compliance

             ix. Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)

             x. Education Yes! State Report Card grade of “A” or “B”

             xi. best practice staff development opportunities

             xii. Crisis Training for all staff and students

             xiii. emergency response procedures

             xiv. clear behavioral expectations

             xv. student discipline referral reduction

 

II. The District will review, maintain and develop all technology and facilities to assure student success

      A. Indicators of success:

              i. continuous building infrastructure review and scheduled maintenance

              ii. annual review of demographic patterns and District building needs

              iii. clearly communicated technology plan

                          a.      reviewed

                          b.      maintained

                          c.      updated

              iv. building District technology infrastructure review and maintenance

  

III.  All schools will foster/maintain a sense of unity among students, staff, parents and the community at large

       A. Indicators of success:

             i. strong local business ties

             ii. school-community partnerships and interaction

             iii. positive public relations

             iv. community shared resources

             v. parent groups and community advisory committees
