Carlson Artist Hannah Forman Honored
Hannah Forman, a junior, received two honors this year for her artistic talents. The Mayor of Rockwood, Daniel Guzzi, asked that the art department at Carlson create a painting of the Rockwood city seal for the 33rd District Court judge and Rockwood native, Jennifer Coleman Hesson. Hannah was the first choice for the job because of her work ethic and talent. She did an amazing job and was congratulated at the Rockwood City Council meeting.
In March, the Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) held an art exhibit for local artists and high school students. The theme for the exhibit was “Embracing Global Peace.” Hannah was interested in taking part in the show and entered a large mixed media piece featuring aluminum cans, acrylic paint, and plaster. The piece was well thought-out and beautifully executed. The juried show awarded Hannah a first place for her piece. Hannah is a perfect example of the excellence within the halls of Carlson High School and is expected to produce more amazing work in her upcoming senior year.
